Getting Started

How does WallyPilot connect to my Walmart Connect account, and what permissions are required?

Not required for keyword rank tracking or keyword research. A Walmart Connect integration will be required for any ad automations once API access is granted.

How often are keyword rankings updated?

Rankings are refreshed nightly (within ~24 hours). In rare cases they may update within 48 hours due to data delays.

Can I import my own keyword list and export results to CSV?

Yes. Bulk-import keywords via CSV template in the Keyword Ranks section, and export any results to CSV.

Features & Research

What's a research ticket?

Each ticket returns a scored list of keywords for the product/topic you submit. You input a product title or Walmart item ID, and get back 2-6 word keyword suggestions with Competition, Difficulty, Opportunity, and Est. CPC scores. For example: Input "wireless bluetooth earbuds" → Output "bluetooth earbuds wireless," "noise cancelling earbuds," "true wireless earbuds" etc., each with performance scores. Tickets reset monthly and are capped by your plan.

How are Opportunity Score and estimated CPC calculated?

Both are proprietary estimates that weigh signals such as reviews, price, product rank, and other external indicators. They are directional—not official Walmart metrics.

How accurate are Walmart search volume, difficulty, and competition estimates?

They're modeled estimates; Walmart does not publish this data via API. Treat them as directional guides for prioritization.

How do alerts work when rankings drop or campaigns stop spending?

You'll see in-dashboard alerts for major changes. Email alerts are on the roadmap.

Can I set rules that react to low inventory or fast sell-through?

This is in development and depends on inventory signals available via the Walmart API.

Spend optimization
Now

We minimize wasted spend using campaign structure, match types, and pausing underperforming terms. While Walmart doesn't offer traditional negative keywords, we optimize spend through strategic campaign organization and bid management.

What's the recommended campaign/ad group structure using WallyPilot data?

Split brand vs. non-brand, separate exact/phrase groups, and use rank + research data to graduate winners into higher budgets while isolating poor performers.

My Walmart ads aren't spending—how can WallyPilot help diagnose and fix this?

Use research and ranking data to check keyword demand, competition, and bid competitiveness. Common fixes include raising bids/budgets on high-opportunity terms and improving product relevance. For account-level issues, contact Walmart Support.

Is WallyPilot affiliated with the University of Portland?

No, WallyPilot is not affiliated with the University of Portland or their Wally the Pilot mascot. We are a software company focused exclusively on Walmart advertising automation and keyword tracking for e-commerce sellers.

Plans & Billing

What limits apply per plan (keywords tracked, research tickets, number of products)?

Track unlimited products. Your limits are on keyword trackers and research tickets, which vary by plan—see Pricing for details.

How do I switch between monthly and yearly billing? Is the 20% annual discount automatic?

Go to Billing Manager and switch to Yearly; the 20% discount is applied automatically.

How do upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations work? What happens mid-cycle?

Use Billing Manager to change plans; charges are prorated. Cancel anytime to stop future renewals—your account stays active through the current term.

Can multiple users collaborate in one account? Do you support SSO or roles?

Team seats/roles (and SSO) are on the roadmap.

Technical & Security

How does WallyPilot handle data privacy and security (encryption, storage, retention)?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Payment details are handled securely by Stripe. We only request the minimum access needed for features you use.

Do you support Walmart Canada (.ca) or other international marketplaces?

Yes—Canada, Mexico, and Chile are supported. Some automation features will depend on local API availability.
